About
On May 4, 2021, Galesburg-Augusta residents will be asked to consider a bond proposal to support Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools.

The district has convened many stakeholder meetings and surveys in order to determine a 3-5 year plan that would allow the district to continue to improve the facilities that support our student educational programming.

WHY NOW?
Space is very limited at our Primary School. We had to move the 4th-grade students to the middle school and 8th-grade students to the High School. This remains a temporary fix until we can raise funds to build additional classrooms at the Primary School.

Improvements will also increase the pride of our students and the total community. A vibrant school community entices growth, stimulates the local economy and keeps families in the district. A must for our small and family-oriented school district to survive and thrive!
By increasing the number of opportunities students receive such as our STEAM joint venture with Eaton-Cummins, coding, and robotics programs, all G-A students will graduate with the skills needed to be successful adults in both career and their communities.

Lastly, the current low-interest rates allow the district to reduce borrowing costs which in turn reduces the rate for taxpayers.

VOTER INFORMATION
ABSENTEE BALLOT
You no longer need a reason to vote absentee. Absent voter ballots offer a convenient way to vote instead of attending the polls on election day.

How to get an absentee ballot
You can download an Absentee Ballot application, fill it out, print it, sign it, and then take it to your township clerk. An absentee ballot will be mailed to you after March 20. The Absentee Ballot application and details on how to vote absentee are available at the link below:

VOTER REGISTRATION
Are you registered to vote?
To take part in the May election, you must be a registered voter. If you registered in the past and haven’t moved from your current township, you’re all set—you don’t have to register again. You can register to vote up until election day; however, within the 14-day period immediately preceding an election, you must appear in person at their city or township clerk’s office and provide proof of residency.

Not sure if you’re registered?
